Echsheim: the home of our dinosaur heroes

Das ist die Karte von Echsheim. Hier werden Schulen, Geschäfte, das Rathaus und alle möglichen Orte angezeigt, damit man weiß, wo sich unsere Geschichten abspielen.

Welcome to Echsheim!

This is the hometown of Dino and Feodora. Our dinosaur children and their friends and families live here.

Echsheim: A charming little town in Sauria. In the neighborhood where our dinosaurs live, everything is fairly new—the houses, the streets, and even the schools. The weekly market takes place here on Wednesdays and Saturdays. And people occasionally meet while strolling through the city park or shopping. Some children already know each other from other schools or have met at the Echsheim playground.

Getting around in Echsheim

The Echsheim bus transports the dinosaurs to all the other neighboring towns. However, you have to pedal along yourself.

The Dino Bus

There's one iron rule throughout Sauria. No energy may be used for movement—no electricity, no gas, or no petrol. That's why all buses are pedal-powered. They're also built in tiers. The long-necked dinosaurs sit in the back and the small dinosaurs in the front. The pterosaurs sit on bird perches on the bus. They also have to use their wings to propel the bus forward. All passengers must stomp. That can make you red-faced!
Dinosaurs and packages are transported by air taxi

The flying taxi

Those who can afford it and aren't afraid of heights can take a ride in an air taxi. You sit in the basket in the middle and have to jump out with a parachute at the right time. Larger packages are also delivered this way.

The city center

This is Himmelsgässchen. This is the shopping street in Echsheim. This is where you shop.

The shopping street of Echsheim

In Echsheim, there's a shopping street, Himmelgässchen. This is where our hardworking businesspeople work.

You can buy anything your heart desires here. Ricky says the grilled pig noses from master butcher Mopsmüller are a dream. Whether it's fresh fruit and vegetables, beautiful replacement hair from Petie's Wig Paradise, or delicious ice cream at Manzetti's Ice Age. Banking is also done here. However, furniture can be bought in Dinhausen at Dinkea, Gini's parents' furniture store.

The businessmen of Echsheim

The Echsos

Dino and Sauriah look at a shiny Echso in front of the Saurian National Bank.

The Dino Money

The Echsos – that's the currency used in Sauria. They sparkle beautifully, and of course, everyone is keen on them. Sometimes they're given away, sometimes they're stolen – in any case, they provide plenty of suspense in our story. Because one thing's for sure: If you steal loot from robbers, they'll get pretty angry. You can almost understand that...

The weekly market

A market situation. Mr. Manzetti sells pastries and coffee.

People like to meet here!

Here in Echsheim, right on the square in front of the town hall, the market takes place two days a week. Many of our local businesses sell their specialties there. Fruit and vegetable vendor Willi Wurmstich, master butcher Mopsmüller, and, of course, the Manzetti family are regulars there to treat their customers. Everyone meets there. Even the lawyer from Echsheim, who keeps a hobby beekeeping business, sells his homemade honey there: the famous Echsheimer Königsblüte.

The intelligence service

This pterosaur delivers mail to our dinosaurs.

The post

This giant fluttering creature is Uncle Feini. He's a large pterosaur and delivers the mail in Echsheim and the surrounding area. He announces himself everywhere with, "Tatü Tata, the mail is here!" Sometimes he's a bit shrill, sometimes a bit clumsy. He's always up for a little chat. After all, he gets around quite a bit and hears quite a lot. That gives him plenty to gossip about. Uncle Feini always seems to be in a great mood. But no one knows how he's really feeling, or whether he's just feigning his good mood. It will be exciting when he tells us all the secret stories he's picked up.
The little postman brings the express mail to Echsheim.

The U-mouth

This little, industrious creature is dear Maulbert. Everyone calls him Mauli. Among our dinosaurs, messages are delivered via "U-Maul." This is done by our little underground postman, who sometimes gets quite overloaded. And to ensure he can manage everything, only truly important messages are allowed to be sent via U-Maul. Dinosaur children are not allowed to use the U-Maul. Only adults are allowed to do that. Mean, isn't it? But that's just how it is with our dinosaurs in Echsheim. Mauli is always rewarded with an earthworm after delivering a message.

The two schools for the dinosaur children

The SchuffZ

SchuffZ is the abbreviation for “School for Peaceful Coexistence.”

Dinosaurs can be divided into two types: meat-eaters and plant-eaters. At some point, they decided together that they wanted to live peacefully together. And to make that happen—to prevent some from snapping and others from constantly running away—the SchuffZ exists. There, dinosaur children are taught how to interact sensibly with one another.

The SchuffZ is the school for peaceful coexistence.

The staff of SchuffZ

Mrs. Fina Faust is the strict but fair headmistress of Echsheim. With a clear mind and a strong sense of justice, she maintains order while also supporting her students with heart and dedication.

Mrs. Faust

This is Fina Faust. She's a fantastic teacher. Many children admire her so much that they want to be just like her. Our little fairy is crazy about her, too. She's very kind to the children and puts a lot of effort into the training at the SchuffZ.
Ben is the calm and reliable supervisor in Echsheim. With his watchful eye, he ensures that rules are followed and everyone is safe. Despite his serious task, he has a friendly nature and is always willing to listen to the concerns of the young dinosaurs. His strong sense of fairness makes him respected and valued by the children.

Ben

Ben, along with his brother Bob, is the SchuffZ's flying supervisor. They always make sure the children behave well and that everything is in order. The two brothers are absolutely reliable. They are often confronted with the children's problems and often act more as social workers than supervisors.
Mr. Weichwickler is Gino and Feodora's friendly and patient teacher. With his warm-hearted manner, he creates a pleasant learning atmosphere. When he's in a particularly good mood, he speaks in rhymes, which makes the lessons entertaining and memorable for his students.

Mr. Weichwickler

Her colleague is Wiegald Weichwickler. He's super friendly and sweet, and he loves rhyming. But beware, if you annoy him, the wordplay is over. Mr. Weichwickler is always a good friend for the children. He's single and enjoys spending time at the market, enjoys going out into nature, and is always up for a chat.
Bob is the conscientious supervisor of the SchuffZ. With a firm but fair hand, he ensures that everything is done according to the rules. He's not easily upset, but when it comes to discipline, he's not a joke. Despite his serious nature, Bob has a kind heart and makes sure everyone feels safe and respected.

The Echsnasium

This is the school our dinosaur children attend after successfully completing the School for Peaceful Coexistence.

Anyone who goes to the Echsnasium should already know how to behave towards other dinosaurs. This usually works, but not always. Ricky, for example, still doesn't fully understand how to behave towards other dinosaurs.

The Echsnasium is the secondary school for our dinosaurs.

Bernhardine Triezmann, the lovably silly art teacher, always carries her brushes by the horns—with the result that she's regularly covered in paint. Her creative and chaotic nature turns art class into a colorful adventure.

This is Bernhardine Triezmann. She's in charge of the art subjects. She paints entire pictures in seconds and is so engrossed in her work that the paint just splashes everywhere. You might even get a little bit of it if you're nearby. Mrs. Triezmann doesn't appear until Book 9, though.
Janitor Wally, the down-to-earth and humorous school janitor, ensures that everything runs smoothly with his watchful eye and unwavering sense of order. With his long grabber arm, he patiently collects scattered trash and calmly responds to everyday chaos with a 'PRÖÖÖT!'

This young man's name is Mister Punkschrank. He hasn't revealed his full name yet. He's a master of the instruments like no other. He's pretty cool, and Ricky is extremely impressed by his skills. Will the two become friends at some point? He, too, doesn't appear until Book 9.

The police

Of course, law and order must also be maintained in Echsheim. Inspector Knoblér and his staff are responsible for this.

Now, you might think that nothing happens in a small town like Echsheim. But no way! There's plenty to do here. A nasty gang of robbers is on the loose. But of course, Police Chief Knoblér and his men are here!

At the Echsheim police station, Mathilde Bangeberg deftly tosses her cap onto the coat hook, while Sergeant Wachtwichel works intently at his desk. Inspector Knoblèr observes the scene with a keen eye, constantly searching for new clues.

Sergeant Wachtwichtel

Here we have the constantly irritated Sergeant Wachtwichtel. He often finds Echsheim too boring. He would love to solve a real crime. Perhaps that's too much for him?

The agents

If anyone is capable of getting the situation with the robbers under control for the safety of all Echsheimers, it's the agents of Sauropol. They come from all over Sauria to consult and make plans for the next steps. They don't always agree with the police officers.

These are the agents of Sauropol. They want to solve a mysterious case in Echsheim.

The Robbers

They're not nice people at all. They're causing trouble in Echsheim. They also like to steal things from other people. The big boss, in particular, is quite dangerous. He pulls all the strings. He and his gang are being hunted by everyone. If only the police and the agents weren't interfering in each other's work!

The gang of robbers robbed the bank in Echsheim.

The dangerous robbers

The boss, a cold-blooded mastermind, sits in a shadowy hideout, wearing a dark suit with gold rings and smoking a cigarillo. His piercing gaze reveals that he's firmly in control of Echsheim—but his enemies are hot on his heels.

But after a spectacular coup, he has caught the attention of the big boss – and in this world, there are no second chances for losers.
Dödel, the simple-minded and good-natured robber, stands innocently in the alley, holding a ham sandwich. With his confused expression, he seems to understand little of what is happening around him, but his trust in his accomplices remains unshakable.

idiot

The Dödel is the idiotic member of the gang led by Two-Finger-Toni and Kalle Klotzkopf. He is naive, gullible, and has a childlike disposition, which often makes him the laughingstock of his accomplices. His ultimate goal is to be taken seriously, but instead, he usually ends up in bizarre situations – whether because he misunderstands a simple command or because he gets distracted by a ham sandwich.
