Our principles

Here is some useful information about our principles and goals for our dinosaur books:

Goals 1–3:
We want to entertain and educate children and build bridges between them.

Goal 4:
No playing on primal fears! Nobody dies in our films. Honestly: Does children's entertainment really always have to involve tragedies where parents die? We say NO and find it extremely tasteless.

Goal 5:
To inspire children with the importance of knowledge and books.

Goal 6:
To create sensitivity for the value of every living being – even the smallest insects.

Goal 7:
Addressing and overcoming fears: Feodora is afraid of water; Gino gets dizzy when someone runs towards him. Both learn to deal with their fears – an important topic for children.

Goal 8:
Encourage children to listen to their gut feeling.

Goal 9:
Continue to provide good and valuable children's entertainment.

With these goals in mind, we create stories that take children seriously, empower them, and bring them joy at the same time.

Why we are convinced lone fighters

We write, publish, and sell our books ourselves – with passion and determination – through our Dino Fino publishing house. Why? It's quite simple:

We are rebels with a mission: We want to keep the reins in our hands and implement our ideas without compromise.

Why we don't need a traditional publishing house:

Editing: Our Petie is an editor himself – check.
Illustration: We illustrate our books ourselves – check.
Printing: Need affordable printing? No problem these days – check.
Marketing & Sales: Social media, SEO, Web 4.0 and direct sales make it possible – done.

Freedom for our characters: Our characters are allowed to remain as they are – sometimes politically incorrect, if necessary, funny and distinctive.

We are a self-publisher by conviction: That's precisely why we do it our way – and that's how it will stay.

About Meggie – creative power behind Dino Fino Publishing

Meggie is the creative driving force behind Dino Fino Publishing. Her journey began with a solid business education, but her true passion lay in creating high-quality children's entertainment. In 2017, a happy coincidence led to a meeting with author Petie. Together with Meggie's son Aaron, the young brainchild, they created the Dino Fino universe – a world full of imaginative stories that delight children. With courage and determination, Meggie acquired extensive knowledge in book typesetting and graphic design. Since then, she has independently illustrated, designed, and published the books for Dino Fino Publishing. In addition to the first successful book series, Dino + Ricky, the adventures of Feodora + Gino followed – two series that transport children into exciting worlds. Her creative prowess was particularly evident in the production of the first six picture books, which she wrote and designed independently within a very short period of time. Today, Meggie stands for captivating stories, exceptional design, and a tireless commitment to high-quality children's books. As a publisher, she brings new ideas to life with heart and dedication and, together with Petie, is shaping the future of Dino Fino Publishing.

About Petie – Author, storyteller and co-founder of Dino Fino Publishing

Petie is an author who lives, breathes, and feels with his characters. His career began in the world of finance, but it was stories that truly captivated him. After studying economics and media studies, he initially founded a market research company. In 2006, he pulled the plug and increasingly made writing his life's work. The real turning point came in 2017 when he met Meggie. Together they created the Dino Fino universe – a world that not only brought Petie's characters to life, but also gave them a home. Here, he is not just an author, but also a storyteller, explorer, and adventurer. Ricky, Dino, Feodora, and Gino are not just characters – they are living parts of his creative work. Today, Petie stands for captivating narratives, profound characters, and a boundless imagination that transports children to new worlds. He doesn't just write books – he lives them.
